What’s your favorite picture of yourself?
I’m willing to bet it was taken when you were happy, relaxed, and by someone you are very comfortable with.
Therein lies the secret to great pictures: being comfortable. Should you hire a professional then? Why not just get your uncle or best friend to take your wedding pictures? You’re already very comfortable with them, right?
Because truth be told, other things do matter. A good eye, experience, reliability, and to some extent professional equipment. Your uncle may take a good picture every now and again, but can he do it hundreds of times over, in the moment, and under pressure?

How do you pick?
You want a professional photographer who is willing to put in the time to get to know you. Your personalities should mesh.
When you start comparing photographers at a certain level, you may begin to realize that we all take pictures of about the same quality for around the same price. Our packages usually include similar things: 6-8 hours of photography, a disc of images, albums, etc.
What sets me apart?
The willingness to get to know you and establish a solid rapport. With all other things being equal (or similar), you should hire a photographer that you actually like. This might not be me, but meeting with your photographer beforehand is essential in determining a good match. In fact, you should have a great relationship with all your vendors.
Your photographer will be spending the better part of the most important day of your life five feet away from you. To say you should get along is an understatement. I simply don’t work with couples who aren’t willing to meet with me a few times before the wedding to get to know one another and iron out the details of our working relationship.
Having this foundation will make a huge difference on the wedding day when, as a result, you’re incredibly relaxed, everything runs smoothy, and it feels like you’ve been around a friend all day.
The Investment
I believe that a wedding photography package can be as unique as every bride and groom I work with. With that in mind there are virtually limitless options available. All packages will always include 8 hours of coverage and DVD of all of your photos. A second photographer, more hours, extra albums, and many other options exist. Please contact me for details. Thank you!
